TEACHING AND DIRECTING:

FRANKLIN ACADEMY HIGHSCHOOL - Wake Forest, NC.  Drama Substitute for seven weeks in '06.  Focused on improvisation and developed all lesson plans for classes.

ARTS TOGETHER - Raleigh, NC.  Drama Faculty '04 - Make A Scene, Playmaking, Music Chorale.  Incorporated students original idea's discovered through improv.

BANKS D. KERR FAMILY YMCA - Raleigh, NC.  Created and directed a short play for a Mother Daughter Tea in '04.  In '05, directed and taught an Create A Fable class for  5-12 year old home schooled children.  Also, wrote, co-produced and directed a live USO Radio Show as part of a Swing Dance evening to support the troops.

WILMINGTON MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL - Wilmington, VT. Drama Advisor from ’94 - 2001. Taught acting and improv and directed students in numerous scene showcases, one-acts and full length productions including The Valley Show, a 60 minute TV program featuring original video shorts, commercials, comic improvisations and interviews.

THEATRELINK - Wilmington, VT. ’98. Facilitated Manhattan Theatre Company’s pilot curriculum-based Web project that connected a New York, Virginia and Vermont high school for a five-month period to create and study theatre together.

MEMORIAL HALL CENTER FOR THE ARTS, Wilmington, VT - Director of the Junior and Senior Summer Theatre Programs For Youth, ’97 - ’99. Directed Annie, Flying Colors, Cookin’, and Peanuts, A Musical Revue. Wrote, directed and produced Virginia’s Christmas, taught an adult acting program, directed and produced the live, multi-media show Women’s Voices ’97 - ’99.

ISSUES IN ACTION - Southern Vermont. ‘94 - 2000. Created and co-directed this drama program using improv, writing and other theatre exercises to explore teen issues in a safe and confidential environment. Implimented at Brattleboro Union High School, Marlboro Elementary School, Putney Central School and Wilmington Middle and High School. Funded by Drug Free School’s and Communities, New Directions and The Community Prevention Partnership.

WHETSTONE THEATRE COMPANY'S THEATRE SCHOOL, Brattleboro, VT - ’93 & ’94. Summer Camp acting instructor for children ages 12-14. Led workshops in theatre games, acting, and improv. Through guided storytelling sessions, the children developed and performed an original drama/movement piece. Directed David Mamet’s The Poet and the Rent.

PRIMAL SCREEN - ’95 - Brattleboro, VT. Director of this Improv/Acting Video Workshop for middle/high school students at the Brattleboro Teen Center.

DOVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - East Dover, VT. ’94 & ’95. Drama Advisor for the Exceptional Skills and Abilities Program. Taught voice, movement, theatre games, acting and improv. Directed an original scene showcase and Snow White And The Enchanted Forest.

LELAND AND GRAY UNION HIGHSCHOOL - West Townscend, VT. ’94. Directed the audience participation murder mystery Fatal Attraction.

BAGGY PANTS PLAYERS, New York City - ’88 - ’89. Joined the founder of this children's theatre touring company, Ben Blatchley, in developing and performing participatory drama with all grade levels in the New York City school system.

BROWNSTONE SCHOOL, New York City - ’84 - ‘85. As a volunteer I engaged in extra curricular activities including puppetry, storytelling, arts and crafts and sports with children ages 3 - 9 in a daycare atmosphere.

FSU CHILDREN'S THEATRE TOURING COMPANY, Tallahassee, FL - ’78 - ’80. Toured north Florida primary and middle schools as an acting company member. Conducted creative dramatics workshops in classrooms for ages 5-12.

EDUCATION, ACTING and SINGING EXPERIENCE:

B.A. in Theatre from FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY, Tallahassee, FL. Special studies included: Creative Dramatics in the Classroom, taught by award winning playwright and Creative Dramatics educator, Virginia Glasgow Koste.

BURT REYNOLD'S INSTITUTE FOR THEATRE TRAINING, Jupiter, FL. One year intensive acting and technical apprenticeship, earned Actor's Equity Association (AEA) membership. Appeared in B.R.D.T.'s productions with actor John Goodman and singer Jim Stafford. Studied with Charles Nelson Reilly, Burt Reynolds, Kenneth McMillan, Kirstie Alley, Stockard Channing and other guest artists and industry professionals..

Studied and performed in New York City from ’82 - ’93. Was an acting student of Herbert Berghoff and Hal Holden at HB STUDIOS, Gloria Maddox and Terry Schreiber at TERRY SCHREIBER STUDIOS, acting coaches Ellie Renfield and Leslie Ayvazian, and took commercial acting with Ruth Nerkin. SPIRAL VIDEO WORKSHOP, on camera acting coach with private developmental program for professional actors run by Academy/Emmy award winning director Bob Deubel.

Trained to teach with LINCOLN CENTER INSTITUTE FOR TEACHING THE ARTS.

Acted on stage with several celebrities, in  films, and has done a variety of national commercials and voice-over work.

In 2000, honored as one of Vermont’s Finest Educator’s by The Governor’s Institute of Vermont and Castleton State College.

Co-Founder of Memorial Hall Center for the Arts Chair and chair of the its Program and Education Committees, Wilmington, VT from 1997-2001.
